Our glucose levels go up because of the adreneline hormone kicking in and telling our livers(which may not be working like it should) to pump out more glucose to keep up with the demand we are placing on our bodies. I have reduced my exercise from intense to moderate and I will eat a complex carb with a protein about 1/2 hr before exercising to help reduce the numbers from going up too high and sometimes they are the same as before exercising.
Hope this helps some.
