Welcome.

What do you mean you are scared of sugar? Are you a diabetic? Are you testing your glucose levels?

We have found that the longer one waits to eat, up to one hour, the better the appetite suppression, if you have that side effect. Not everyone gets the loss of appetite suppression hence the weight loss since they are side effects. Have you been eating right away? If so I would not all of a sudden start waiting one hour, I would slowly increase the time, maybe by 15 min increments.

You can inject anywhere in your belly, just stay away from scars, 1 inch, and stretch marks. You can also inject in your arms and upper/outer thighs. You might want to read the Byetta Basics at the bottom of the start page and go to the Byetta website to read where to inject exactly.

Hi, Mariah. I jusy want to add my welcome to Geri's. That pain in your side might be gas--it's a common side effect with Byetta. (And lots of people say to burp to get rid of it.) Since you are already feeling so full, I wouldn't worry yet about increasing appetite suppression. Give yourself some time, see how the weight loss goes, and then if you think you need to feel fuller, gradually increase the time between injection and eating. It sounds as if you are doing very well so far. That's great! :)

I see. I wish it was just sugar we needed to watch but the biggest thing is simple(processed) carbs. I know if I eat simple carbs with Byetta I will have huge swings, drop low then bounce high 3 -4 hrs later. If I eat complex carbs I stay steadier with no huge swings. If you want to learn more just check out the meals, eating, and nutrition island or just ask some more questions.
