Hi JoJo: Your thread about your blood sugars got accidentally deleted! I'm really sorry and hope you find your way to this thread.
I wanted to tell you that I don't blame you for feeling worried. I feel a bit worried about you, too. I can't give medical advice, of course, but I want to suggest that you see an endocrinologist. With those glucose numbers,it sounds as if "prediabetes" and "watch what you eat" is just not enough. If your doctor will not give you a referral to an endo, can you seek out one on your own? I wonder if you need some expert advice and perhaps a diabetes medicine.
If an endo is out of the question, ask your doctor for a referral to a nutritionist or a dietician specializing in diabetes. Geri's previous advice (did you see it?) about avoiding white foods and substituting whole grain, complex carbs ought to help a lot. But I'd guess that you need more support right now.
We can recommend Web sites and books for learning on your own--and we will if you want. But it is all so complicated at first. I'd like to see you get some medical help understanding everything as soon as possible.
Keep letting us know how you are doing, ok? And, by the way, one of my favorite overview books is Diabetes for Dummies by Dr. Alan Rubin. Following diabetes advice is probably going to help you the most. Whether you have diabetes or prediabetes, it doesn't matter. Actually, eating a healthy diabetes diet is best for anyone, diabetic or not.
Again, I'm sorry about the loss of your thread. Please post again here whenever you can. :)

I know I said something about eliminating simple carbs like white bread, white rice, and white potatoes and substitute them with whole grain bread(4 grams of fiber, hard to find but they are out there), brown rice, and sweet potatoes. Eating complex carbs will help slow down the glucose rises that go on after we eat.
Can't remember right now what else I may have said so if I do I'll post again.
