Hey Everbody, Its been awhile and I was just catching up with a little reading. I've benn on Byetta for about 3 months I think (have ti check), anyway at first I thought it was working for me no, well I'm not so sure. I gave it a 90 day window and at first I had great hope , but then my numbers started climbing little by little (without diet changes so to speak). Along with a little weight gain. Bah Hum Bug !!!!

Recently, the last two to three weeks or so I've been expercing the feeling of stomack being upset but not to the point of the big "V".

Setting up an appointment with my NEW pcm this Friday to discuss options. One off Byetta possibgly restart metformin (low dose) and Lantis pen.

Any ideas on that combo folks?

Another possibility would be to take both metformin and Byetta. I don''t think that is an unusual combination. Before Byetta, I was on Lantus, for a basal rate, and metformin---worked like a charm until later when I added Humalog. Later I added Byetta to the combination. You will have to find what works for you. Now I am on Byetta, metformin and the insulin pump, all of which works for me.

You have to do what is best for you but I can tell you that when I started Byetta I was on 2,000 mil of metiformin.

I stayed on that dose for almost a year. Then dropped to 1500 and now am at 1000.

Ups and downs in regards to bg numbers are not uncommon - no matter what the drugs since other things can affect us and thus our bg numbers.

Also have had to change around the times I do meds to get better results.

Overall I think Byetta has been a big help for me so I will stick with it.

Hope you find what works for you.
